Doesn't everyone have a dream car? For me it is a Ford Mustang Convertible. I don't know why I love it so much.

First of all, I love the red color. Something about it just says "Hey, come and drive me fast". Then there are the sleek lines and the looks you get when in a cool looking car. Then there is the convertible part. There is something about the thought of driving down a road winding around a beach that makes me want to drive it.
But then there is the practical side of me. Number one, I dislike the sun and my hair blowing around. So when would I put the top down on the car? Second was the price. When I got a new car five years ago, I was able to purchase a new car. Dan encouraged me to test drive the Mustang but I knew I couldn't afford it. I hated to try something that I was going to love and then not be able to get it. So I avoided the Ford dealership totally. I did end up with a Honda Civic coupe which has a sports car feel without the sticker price.
Someday I'm going to drive one of these and not worry about the wind or the sun or anything else.
Did you know it is the 50th anniversary of the Mustang? On Wednesday they are going to put one on top of the Empire State Building.
Have you ever wanted something but been afraid to actually try it because of the cost?
My dream car: 1965 Mustang Convertible in candy apple red! They don't make them like they used to!!! Did you see on the news last night the story of the woman who bought the very first Mustang? She and her husband (who was then her boyfriend) still have it. He fixed it up after it sat in their garage; he vowed to fix it up after he retired. It is a beautiful car!
ReplyDeleteI really, really want a Volvo station wagon. Hubby's grandparents have an older one, and I love that car. I don't let myself think too much about having one, though, since I have a perfectly good, paid for Toyota Camry.
ReplyDeleteGirl...I'd give my right arm for a red Mustang! Sure doesn't hurt to dream, does it?
ReplyDeleteWow, doesn't seem possible the 50th anniversary of a Mustang; some impressive sight though to see it on top of the Empire State Building. Maybe you can rent one when you go on vacation sometime and get your "fix" in. I'm not sure what my dream car would be; I know at times I have liked various cars, but right now I'm just glad to have a vehicle that is paid off and still runs :)

I'm a Mustang girl from waaaaaay back. Never actually OWNED one, for both financial and practical reasons, but my best friend in high school had a silver '77 Mustang (in 1985), red interior, five speed--we called it the Gray Ghost. I still have the front license plate from that car (she has the back) and to this day, it's still the best thing I've ever driven. Thanks for the trip down memory lane! :)
ReplyDeleteMy Aunt had the hottest mustang in the 60's when I was little. And I've loved then ever since but have never bought one. Maybe someday
ReplyDeleteI hear you about the wind blowing your hair thing, but it is a beautiful car!
ReplyDeleteI owned a white Mustang once upon a time. It was not a convertible, but was a mock convertible. They actually were not making convertibles at the time I bought my car. However, with the mock top, it really looked like a convertible with the top up. I used to come out to a parking lot after shopping and there would be people standing around looking at my car. It really was a sharp looking car.
