The October Version of TV Reviews

So most of the shows have started up (except for Nashville, that's tonight). Because I don't have anything else to talk about and I'm sure you are waiting for my opinions on the fall season, here you go.

Scripted Shows

Revenge - AWESOME! Only two episodes into the year and I am counting the days until the next one. That's always a good sign. If you haven't seen this, think GOOD night time soap opera. Because it really is one.

Person of Interest - I was worried second season wouldn't start off well but I was wrong. Another great show if you need something to watch. It makes you think and has just enough based on reality to make you wonder if there is something out there like the machine.

Glee - Worried about this one. Although the last episode was redeeming it is now off for a month because of baseball. If it continues like the last episode great. If not, I may have to pass.

Once Upon A Time - yes a new entry to my normal watching. Whitney got me watching it and it comes on right before Revenge. If I miss one, it would be ok, but they sure have some great costumes and scenery in Fairy Tale Land.

Unscripted Shows (In Other Words Reality TV)

Project Runway - season almost over. I'm on Team Christopher or Melissa for the win. After this is over they are having another All Stars which I won't watch. Although our local contestant (Kayne Gillespie) is on it.

Amazing Race - this one gets DVR'd and I watch it when I can. I hate the food roadblocks and please make them do something. While the bull racing was fun to watch this week all the racers had to do was ride on the back of a motorcycle that someone else was driving. BORING.

Dancing with the Stars - I tried to watch this since it was All-stars and I'm a sucker for that. But this week's results show that continues to have the crappy dancers staying on (yes I'm talking to you Kirstie and Bristol) have ruined the show. Bye Bye Bye.

Top Chef - about to start new season. Yes I'll be watching.

Daytime TV

The Chew - yes I DVR this every day so I can watch it when I get home. I skip a lot of it but there is great chemistry among the hosts (except for Mario who I'm not sure why he is there). I've never cooked any of their dishes but I enjoy them. Clinton Kelly, Carla Hall and Michael Symon can come visit me any day.

Friday Fragments - Goodbye September

It's Friday Fragments time. Joining up with Mrs. 4444 to put those random tidbits in my brain to good use.

Mommy's Idea

Stupid criminal of the day was the guy who tried to carjack a Porsche but didn't know how to drive a stick shift. Needless to say he didn't get far before being arrested.

Fall is trying to come to Oklahoma. It rained yesterday (thank you) and it isn't 100 degrees. However the humidity is so high the windows are fogging up as I drive to work in the morning. Oh well, I can live with that.

My Thursday nights have gotten so packed with stuff. I joined a bible study, I have three tv shows on at the same time (thank goodness one repeats later so I can dvr them all), wine tasting after work. Phew. I did watch one of the shows when I got home but still have two left. I think maybe at lunch today I'll watch one at work.

Speaking of tv, I'm undecided if I'm trying any new shows this season. The only one I'm thinking about is Nashville but it doesn't start for a couple of weeks.

Revenge starts up on Sunday night. Glee has been on for three weeks and I'm starting to lose my interest. Has it "jumped the shark"? If you haven't heard that term, then you need to Wiki it.

I got sucked into watching Dancing with the Stars. I just can't resist All-Stars versions of stuff. I just heard that Project Runway was doing a second season of allstars. Our local boy Kayne is going to be back on it. I might have to watch it for him.

We were successful in eating out of the freezer this week and I now have a few empty spaces there. I can cook this weekend and have a place to put leftovers. Now just to decide what it is to make.

Life at a small school...Whitney decided to quit her job a couple of weeks ago. She applied for one job, within two hours had an interview set up. Ten minute interview and she starts on Monday.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Friday Fragments - Christmas in July Edition

Time to empty all that junk out of your brain with Mrs. 4444 and Friday Fragments.

Mommy's Idea

The radio station I listen to on the drive to work was playing Christmas songs today. They were hoping that Christmas in July would help people feel cooler. Since the temperature today is going to be 106 I think we need a little bit more than a song.

American Idol is in OKC for auditions today. The last two days they had sign ups and today is auditions. I wonder how many people got heat stroke waiting to sign up and then today to sing. Saw a photo of Ryan Seacrest and he was standing outside in a long sleeve shirt. You'd better watch out Ryan or you might get sweat pits under the arms. That won't look good on tv.

I am almost caught up on my after the vacation to do list at work. And that includes covering for my boss's assistant while she's on vacation and getting extra work this week. Sometimes I amaze myself.

I'm still on the hunt for the perfect recipe for dinner without heating the house. It's too hot to grill or use the smoker outside (plus I'm not sure how well they work). There is no way I'm turning the oven on. I'm trying to eat healthier and Dan can't really eat hard to chew foods. The new pasta dish I made this week was ok but not very flavorful. So will keep looking through all the food blogs I follow.

Normally I stay in my office at lunch but yesterday I finally used a groupon I had bought for a sushi restaurant. I have one friend who eats sushi with me so we met up and had two pretty good ones. The restaurant has a lot of original ones (a lot of them have jalapenos which we passed on). The best we had was called the tsunami. We also had a rainbow. Maybe we just like things named after natural phenomena.

Anyone catch the Project Runway premiere last night? Just looking at the before show and what they showed there, my money is on Ven. Some of those other people (I'm talking about you Kooan) are just plain crazy.

And so now my brain has been emptied and I can go back to my regularly scheduled work. Thanks for reading.
