Just a short version of Friday Fragments. It's late in the day and I've already posted once today (D is for Riding a DogSled). If you are looking for that post, keep reading past this one.

I got to spend the morning going through a storage room in a building that is not up to code and therefore will be closing. I haven't been to our storage room for probably 10 years. It was full of old paper, dust and computer monitors from ancient times. I even found a couple of super old imacs with the tiny screens and floppy drives. If they were working I'm sure they would be worth money. But that isn't the case.
I've got all my letters except 4 decided for this month A-Z Challenge. Thank goodness. Except one of them is for next week. Thinking cap must go on.
Tonight is Relay for Life at Whitney's university. She's worked so hard as co-chair. We are going to go support her at the start. I'm sure she will be happy when this is over. She's still on the hunt for a summer internship/job.
The Medieval Fair is in town this weekend. I drove by and saw people all dressed up. Dan ran into a knight and princess at the grocery store. How many times can you say that and not sound strange?
I got to cross this off my list in June 2012. It was probably one of the most exciting things I've ever done and I think everyone needs to do this once in their life.
We went to Juneau on a cruise and flew in a helicopter up to a glacier where the dogs are over the summer so they can continue to train. They always get excited when they hear the helicopters because they think they might get to run.

You get paired in groups of 4 with two sleds behind the dogs. Lucky us got paired with an older couple who only wanted to ride in the sled. Dan was so nice to me because he knew this was my highlight of the trip and let me drive 3 of the 4 stops.

As you can see from the smile, I was a little excited and happy. I still am today when I think about it.
These dogs are worker dogs and not necessarily friendly pet dogs. But that's ok.
Here's the first on my list that I've actually done. I'm a huge DisneyWorld fan as is my daughter. My husband humors us. We had been to see the mouse a couple of times (including Thanksgiving when they had decorations out) but I wanted to go and spend Christmas there. A few years ago we were lucky enough to do that. I had a Disney credit card and had earned enough points to pay for our hotel room and our tickets. So we spent a week at DisneyWorld and loved it.

I loved our trip to Disney at Christmas. I would most certainly do it again. Yes it is crowded, but it is still very magical.
I'm joining Joyce for this week's questions since I had my A-Z post written for B written last week.
1. Since these questions are posting on the first day of April it seems only right to ask-when was the last time you did something foolish? If you can't answer that one, try this one-when was the last time someone fooled you?
I really don't have an answer for either of these questions. I like to think I'm not foolish or easily fooled.
2. What's the last biography or non-fiction book you've read? Was it any good?
I read a book about Henrietta Lacks. Never heard of her? Well I hadn't either but it is a interesting story about the rise of medical ethics. Mrs. Lacks had cervical cancer and she had cancer cells harvested from her. These cells were reproduced and sold to various entities to help in cancer studies. Her cells are everywhere. Unfortunately she had not given informed consent for the taking of these cells. Others profited off of her disease.
3. Garlic-friend or foe? What's your favorite dish made with garlic?
Love garlic. So many delicious dishes. An easy one is to heat olive oil with garlic and red pepper flakes and coat some pasta. Simple, delicious and inexpensive.
I've been to an Azalea festival in Oklahoma before. So I have to go with tulips. Although you sure would have to hit that one on just the right day or else they would all be destroyed by a big rainstorm.
You did leave off the Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington DC. While technically not a flower, they are spectacular to look at.
5. How do you choose which blogs to read? What is something that will make you stop and read every time? Something that makes you say, 'eh, think I'll skip this one and move on to the next'?
I try to read all the blogs of the ones I follow. Although sometimes I click on it and it doesn't look interesting so I close the window. Sometimes it just is what mood I'm in and how much time I have to read it.
6. April is National Mathematics Education Month so tell us, when did you last use math?
I use math every day (as does everyone even if they don't think they do). I'm currently working on a budget for a proposal and even though I'm using Excel, I still have to think. My handy adding machine is located directly to the right of my phone on my desk. I can't tell you how many printer cartridges I've gone through on it.
If you use money to pay for anything, you are using math.
7. In honor of the A-Z challenge kicking off on April 1...choose one word beginning with the letter A to describe your yesterday.
Anti-awesome. (I couldn't think of the opposite of awesome to start with A so I made that one up). Three proposals on my desk, just got a call that another one that we've been going round and round with the funding agency has been sent back yet again for a change to what we originally proposed (thanks for changing your mind...again). Let's just say I'll be happy when it is Friday.

Anyone watch the Tonight Show? I wonder how much Ford is getting in free publicity from Jimmy Fallon's Fingers on a 4x4? It is a cute idea and the sales consultants (car dealers) are getting some good publicity and hopefully a large commission out of the deal.

Bucket List Items
These are things that I've got on my current list (well in my head, I don't have one written down) or have always wanted to do and have accomplished. So while the days may not seem to make sense, if you look at it this way, it will all come together for you.
A is for Australia...a place I've always wanted to travel to. I'm sure this is on many people's bucket lists. I mean what is there not to want to go see.

Of course there is the weather (opposite of the US), the food, the people, the beach and so much more. I can't wait until I actually get to go there.

Life in Oklahoma. Wind, wind, wind. But I'm still here so I'm joining with Mrs. 4444 this week for Friday Fragments.
My desk has never seen so much paper and projects in its life. I don't think it was just being out of town for a week. I think the paper decided to multiply and have babies. It can do that...right? But among all the paper is about $500,000 in proposals that we are definitely getting the money for so it is all worth it. I just have to finish writing them.
I have missed the last few weeks at church due to being out of town and some other issues. I told our volunteer coordinator I was taking a break from ushering. Within one day, I had 5 different people from church call me to make sure I was ok. I guess I'm missed and that people like me.
Stupid criminal this week is a man who was released from prison after 15 years for robbing a store. So what did he do to celebrate getting out of jail? He went back and robbed the same store. He was caught after K9 police chased him down. Back to jail he goes. I think the store needs to be notified when he gets out the next time and have police waiting for him as he arrives.
I've got several of my posts written already for next month's A-Z Blog Challenge. I need to scan in some pictures for C but otherwise the first week is done. And I came up with new things for a couple more letters. I still need to figure out 10 letters. My brain better kick it into gear. The theme is bucket list which seems to be unique at least from what was on the theme reveal.
I am about to go a little crazy at Target. They have their Lean Cuisine/Smart Ones/Healthy Choice meals buy 1/get 1 free. That makes these unbelievably cheap. So I've done one trip and need to go back for more. How much can my freezer hold? I eat these every day for lunch so it is a really good thing for me to stock up on.
This weekend I need to put all my snowmen stuff away. I got it all together and the box down from the attic, but I still haven't wrapped anything up. I am so far behind on many things. Just finished taxes last weekend. Normally I have them done in early February. Maybe it's the weather?
