Hodgepodge - Important Job Edition

Joining up with this week's questions from Joyce. Her answer to number 7 is great.

1. In your opinion what's the most important job in the world? Oh, and parenting is a given so besides parenting, what's the most important job in the world?
I'm going to outside the box today. Lots of people have said teachers which is a great answer. But I'm going with inventor. Without inventors we wouldn't have new stuff. Sure the teachers have to teach you the basics, but the inventors get creative in their minds and come up with everything. Someone had to invent the computer right or else you wouldn't be reading this.

2. Share a favorite or not so favorite memory from a childhood birthday.
I don't remember a lot of birthdays (that isn't my age it just that I'm not a big birthday person). I do remember I had a sleepover for my 16th birthday.

3. Peanut butter-crunchy or smooth?
Smooth is the only way to go. Dan had me buy a small jar of the crunchy last week and I had a taste and didn't like it.

4. William Butler Yeats is credited as saying, "Happiness is neither virtue nor pleasure nor this thing nor that but simply growth, We are happy when we are growing." Your thoughts?
I feel like I'm back in school being quizzed. I never could answer these questions.

5. What's something that makes you cringe?
The static sound when Dan unplugs his ipod from the speaker in the living room. Yikes.

6. Name a song that always puts you in a good mood?
Bananarama - Venus
What can I say? I like bad cheesy 80's music.

7. The answer is yes. What's the question?
Would you like to take a vacation? I love vacations and even when I get back from one I want to take another one.

8. Insert your own random thought here.
Four day work weeks always throw me. Today seems like Thursday but it is Wednesday. Which means there are still two more days of work. So hurry up weekend and come so I can get back on track.

  1. The answer is yes. The question: "Will your husband be the last man you ever love." Yep - couldn't get better than this, nor do I want it to.

I like your answer on inventors - it's a keeper. I tried to think of an alternative, but I think you are right. :)

I don't think happiness can be defined as a whole, as it is different for everyone and I have known plenty of people that were perfectly happy not to "grow". They relished the ordinary and orderliness of their lives. That's to be admired if that is what you want.

And something that makes me cringe - the sound of a crash when my kids or husband are in another part of the house and I think they have fallen or hurt themselves. Hate that.

    Oh-and crunchy. Definitely crunchy.

  2. Wait - I have another cringe worthy - foul mouthed lyrics on any type of music, but especially screechy rap. I hate when I am seeking on my car radio and that pops up. ick.

  3. haha! I think those questions are hard to answer too - usually why I try to be funny & witty with them :)

  4. Ah, I love the inventor answer! So true.

I'm not the biggest music person, don't get me wrong I love music but I don't know who sang what or when or even songs all that well. Never did!

It makes me cringe when I'm trying to talk to someone on the phone and the t.v. is up loud.....I don't hear on the phone that well and it drives me to distraction! :)

  5. I like your answer to number one. Inventors are very important without them our world be definitely be a different place.
Three day weekends do throw things off. But, the weekend will make it all better!

  6. My hubs took Tuesday and Wednesday off too so when he left this morning I said, "Just think, it feels like Monday, but it's actually Thursday." That sort of mental trick makes me happy : )

I like cheesy 80's music too!
