Weekend Wrap-up

I kept myself busy this weekend. Want to know how?

First we had this delicious dinner. (I've already blogged about it).

I went to the local beauty school (Paul Mitchell Salon) and spent four hours (yes that's right) getting a haircut and color. It was less than $50 and turned out great.

Walmart had big mums for $3.33 each. Can you believe that price? I decided to get bronze colored ones for the mailbox.

And finally we have had cooler weather. I always feel like lighting candles when it gets darker earlier and cooler. Unfortunately I don't have too many in the house right now.

See I only had one tea light left. Guess I'd better go buy some more.

I also bought a new purse on an awesome sale at Kohl's. I'm definitely ready for fall/winter now.

Hope this is a great week for everyone!

  2. Your hair looks SPECTACULAR! Good price too. That's what I pay at our local WalMart salonfor a cut/color or a perm/color [$45] and my hairdresser understands me and does exactly what I ask. I love her. It isn't affiliated with Walmart but darn if I can remember the name of those salons.

I used to love Kohl's but their perpetual "sales" drive me nuts. Something, no everything, is always 20, 30, 40 or 50 percent off. And then when you check out they always circle how much you "saved". I guess it is a way to make the consumer feel like they are getting a deal - but honestly there are very few deals to ever be had there. At least the one here. Basically they mark their products [like Vera Wang] up beyond retail price then put it on "sale" so you think you got a steal on that $60 tank top that was 20% off and "only" cost $48. For the month of September they had real diamond jewelry - engagement rings and such - on a buy one get one free sale. I heard a woman ask "So if I purchase this $4,997.00 ring for full price I will get the $3,000 wedding band for FREE?" heehee Really? But the clerk replied yes. I was just surprised they were selling jewelry like a bona fide jewelry store.

Now I said all of that and I am sure your purse was actually on sale and a great price - you strike me as a person that gets the deal. And it is awfully pretty. I have been searching high and low for a black leather purse for the winter months - already have my brown ready :) - but I haven't found one that strikes my fancy yet. Don't make me go back to Kohl's Tracy. giggle

And I want September to end already. We've had all the birthdays for the month - I want October here so I can start decorating for fall and Halloween. Although I cheated and planted my mums a month ago. Hey - it was cool then, so...and I got them at Wal Mart too. So pretty. [LOVE your mailbox! It's so YOU. :D]

Enjoy the rest of your week. Thought about you today when the severe weather came through Weather Lady. :)
