Friday Fragments

Here's this weeks fragments joining with other bloggers at Mrs. 4444's place.

Mommy's Idea

Did you hear that Monopoly is getting rid of one token and replacing it with another. People vote and the iron is out and the cat is in. I guess that covers most pet owners now. The dog is the most popular piece. Personally I like the wheelbarrow so I can wheel my money around the board. :)

Stupid criminal this week is three men who robbed a church of its audio equipment. They took it to a music store to sell. Guess who was in the store? The reverend trying to replace the stolen equipment. He saw what the men were trying to sell and called the cops. Moral of the story...don't steal from church. God will hunt you down.

Anyone watch Smash this week? That Megan Hilty can sing. And Jennifer Hudson was so amazing, she blew Katherine McPhee out of the water. But I could have told you that after watching American Idol. I never liked Katherine.

The gumbo we made on Sunday has been so tasty this week as leftovers. There is still a little left but I think I've had enough. Three times in a week is my limit.

Revenge comes back Sunday and it is going to be so good. They promised no more breaks for a bit which is good because we are coming up to revealing who is going down in the boat that they showed briefly in the first episode of season 2. I can't wait.

I'm going to make a plug for an app from work. It will help researchers determine how well forecasts/radar is accurately predicting precipitation. It is called mPING and is for both Apple and Android phones. Simple to use. All you do is pick the type of precipitation that you are having (they even tell you the difference) and submit. The app can tell your location. Read all about it in the press release from NOAA . I know the researchers involved and it is a great way to help science move forward.

And so ends another version of Fragments. Join in today or wait until next week to see what I have to share.

  1. My sister always had to be the dog, my brother was the battleship and I loved the iron.

So phooey. heehee Then again Monopoly hasn't been the same since they installed debit machines. [So easy to play, but.....]

I always liked the iron - that's sad :( I was always the dog though. We had a dog that looked just like it as a kid :)

  3. I have to admit, I like the iron. I kind of hate to see it go...sniff, sniff. I have never watched Smash...I think I need to get with the program!

  4. I liked the iron too. I know why they chose a cat, but I don't think it's a good fit. I like the shoe. Of course : )

I didn't care for Katherine McPhee on Idol, but I do think the role on Smash is a good fit for her.

    Have a great weekend!

  5. that is so funny about the criminals!!

I was not impressed with the cat. I guess I am a traditionalist...why fix something that isn't broken!

  7. Even though I don't like playing games, I always loved the iron!

I don't watch Revenge, but I'm wondering if Revolution is coming back for a second season.....haven't heard a word about that one.

As always, I loved the stupid criminal story!

  8. Speaking of Monopoly makes me think of "Clue" which we used to play and I just recently heard that they've changed up some of the weapons and things in that game now too.

What is this world coming to?

    Hehehehehe

  9. I kind of like the cat piece, but I hate playing Monopoly so I guess it doesn't matter.

I didn't like Katherine McPhee, either. I never thought she was that good of a singer...and she always seemed to have a bit of an attitude that she was better than everyone else.

I have never watched either of those shows. What am I missing?

  10. I have not made a Gumbo since Christmas Eve in Louisiana this past year. I agree about leftovers. They lose their charm after the third round, for sure. Did you make a gumbo with chicken or seafood? What about okra? I love okra but many in my circle don't care for it.
