Hodgepodge Truly Hodgepodge

Joining up for another fun week's worth of questions from Joyce.

1. July 24th is Amelia Earhart Day. Earhart was the first female to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean. What's something you've recently accomplished solo?
Well I think travelling by myself in a foreign country counts, don't you? While it is true I had a guide with me at the tourist places, I was by myself. And I survived.
Self Portrait on the Great Wall of China

2. What's one product you use that never ever fails?
Diet Coke. Don't go giving me any of that other diet cola soda. Just doesn't cut it.

3. Have you found your place in the world? Where is it?
I didn't know I was lost. LOL

4. Worst movie you ever saw?
Hands down...Cujo. I saw it my freshman year of college as a free thing to do when we moved into the dorms. Yikes was it bad.

5. What's the last fun thing you did?
See number one above. I think going to China was pretty fun thing to do.

6. The month of July is named for Roman Emperor Julius Caesar...ever been to Rome? What's your favorite Italian dish?
I've never been to Rome or Italy but would like to go. Trying to name one favorite Italian dish is impossible. My favorite kind of food to cook.

7. What is one piece of advice you'd offer new mom Kate Middleton?
I assume she doesn't have to worry about housework or else I would suggest sleep when the baby sleeps and don't do housework. But since she doesn't have to worry about that, I still say sleep while the baby sleeps.

8. Insert your own random thought here.
In two weeks Whitney will be back at school. This year at least she doesn't have to buy much to move back since she will be in the same room as last year with the same roommate.

  1. We had the same advice for Kate!
Yes, traveling by yourself in a foreign country definitely is something to be proud of! I didn't realize you were by yourself; I thought you were in a group!

  2. I love the pic of you in China. And we are so happy Squirrel extended her lease on her townhome one more year [then she graduates!] so we didn't have to move her a third time home and a fourth time back. Can you imagine us trying to move her home when we were packing to move us out?

And I too, LOVE, Italian food. Helps that I am married to one. In fact we had stuffed shells for dinner last night. I swear I could eat fresh ricotta right out of the tub with a side of fresh mozzarella - hold the shells, sauce and baking. heehee

  3. Heck Yeah! Going to China was totally amazing of you!

X doesn't go back to school until the end of August this year and he has figured out what he needs and what he doesn't so the move in, done by himself, is pretty smooth. Of course the fact that he's a guy helps. :)

  5. Loved your answers!

Now mine: 1. I left the husband and raised two babies solo, does that count?

    2. Vicks vapor rub on the feet for stuffy-ness.

    3. Right here... on the couch.

    4. don't know, usually at the first sign it's bad I turn it off.

    5. Fun? Who has time for fun? :)

    6. been to Rome, it was fantastic! Spoiled me for all other wines though.

    7. um, I think Kate can offer us all the advice... hello? She has a full staff, nanny, sitter, etc. Isn't that the best way to stay young and fresh?

    8. It's too hot here today to have any random thoughts... I'm just trying to not sweat off all my make up before we go out to dinner. :)
