The grasshoppers have come and they are everywhere. The dry weather has driven them out of whatever hole they live in and they are now all over the place. I hate grasshoppers. When I was little and lived in Wisconsin, we would have scores of grasshoppers that liked to hang out on the back door. Now this is the door we used to go in and out of the house because it was really more like a side door to the driveway. Grasshoppers scared me so badly. I would ask my mother to go scare them away before I would go outside (and this is when I was 10 years old). I would also make lots of loud noises before I opened the door trying to scare them away. Luckily I have grown out of the scared of them phase. But I still don't like them.

I have noticed more grasshoppers in Georgia this year as well. Although our heat has been nothing compared to yours. Sending winter thoughts your way!
